About Me

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in Miami, FL, I have been practicing as a lactation consultant for over  a decade.  I know firsthand how difficult it is to experience breastfeeding difficulties; while nursing my son, I dealt with extremely low milk supply, having to supplement, bottle feeding,  and painful latch/blebs and having days I thought I was going to quit.  I called an IBCLC, who guided me through her protocol, and with her help and my determination I was able to breastfeed my son, Jake, until we were ready to wean. I truly believe breastfeeding is 10% skill and 90% determination.

I have a background in Holistic Nutrition and I knew the importance of breastfeeding to the overall health of my son and myself.  After years of experience as a lactation consultant I took my IBCLC exam and became Board Certified.  I believe nutrition for your baby starts before pregnancy, continues as you breastfeed  and throughout their life time.

I do this work for all the women who wanted to breastfeed and didn't have the opportunity because they didn't have someone like myself to help them through it.  Also, to be of support and guidance through this beautiful journey from pregnancy to weaning.

When I am not helping families in their breastfeeding journey, my other passions include : running, meditating,  practicing yoga, working on personal growth, working out,  paddle boarding or simply enjoying the outdoors on a hike, walk or camping trip.

Testimonials

Astrid B.

As a first time mother, I was having issues with breastfeeding. My newborn would only latch onto one breast and it would be extremely painful. The other breast would be fully engorged since he refused to extract any milk from it. I mentioned this to my pediatrician at our first newborn appointment and she recommended to reach out to Maggie. I asked if insurance covered the consultation and the pediatrician responded, “Regardless, she’s worth it.” And worth it she is! Maggie was able to come the same day that I reached out to her and asked a lot of questions to understand the issues I was dealing with. She observed how I carried the baby during feedings and how the baby latched on to my breast and showed me how to correctly do everything. She even successfully got him to latch on yo the rejected breast with her first try! She then sent me a detailed plan via email on everything we discussed which gave me way more confidence and understanding about the feeding process and understanding the baby’s needs. On top of that, she followed up with me regularly to see how we were doing and if we had any further concerns. I am so thankful for her helping us get to a good start with this  journey and I will be sure to reach out to her again to plan the feedings when I return to work!
